Home > export compliance

I know it depends on a lot of factors like experience and location, etc, but what would be the ideal salary for a student that graduated from college with:

- Associates degree in Business Administration
- Bachelors degree in International Business and Trade
- Customs Broker License
- 2 years of customer service experience
- An internship at the World Trade Center in Miami organizing the American Food and Beverage Trade Show.

More specifically, I want to work in the International Trade field. Being a Customs Broker out of college, and then branching out to helping corporations making sure their imports and exports comply with the regulations of the government, as an Customs Compliance Officer.

What do you think is a reasonable salary price that an employer should offer me when I graduate next year?

universities.atwebpages.com - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.

Thank you very much!

I think your resume is too responsibilities focused and isn’t providing the reader with a clear grasp of how you have impacted the organizations at which you have worked. Many of your bullet points seem to stop short of telling the whole story – something that could be resolved by including more quantifiable achievements. For example, when you say

"Developed a system to track tanker’s movements from the point of origin to destination."

I would like to know how this impacted the company. Did it increase tanker availability or reduce costs? Are there metrics that speak to the impact?

I would take second look at all of your bullets and ask yourself, "Does this communicate an accomplishment or a responsibility? Am I telling the reader how this achievement positively effected the company?"

I will attach a link to my blog, which has quite a few good resume writing tips. I think you might find it helpful.

Best of luck in the job search!

as we all know Fedora linux is opensource as a big player to the open source community. and according to that it should be freely available for everyone. just like any distribution available i.e Ubuntu / mint/ Puppy linux/ Debian .. and so on. BUT i found this in teh small print on FEDORa’s download site as well as RED HAT’s

Fedora software and technical information is subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and other U.S. and foreign law, and may not be exported or re-exported to certain countries (currently Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria) or to persons or entities prohibited from receiving U.S. exports (including those (a) on the Bureau of Industry and Security Denied Parties List or Entity List, (b) on the Office of Foreign Assets Control list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons, and (c) involved with missile technology or nuclear, chemical or biological weapons). You may not download Fedora software or technical information if you are located in one of these countries, or otherwise affected by these restrictions. You may not provide Fedora software or technical information to individuals or entities located in one of these countries or otherwise affected by these restrictions. You are also responsible for compliance with foreign law requirements applicable to the import and use of Fedora software and technical information.

HOW teh hell is that free software now? isnt this violation of teh FREE software movement? you can see this at teh download page when you click on teh EXPORTING REGULATIONS…

opinions? Is that justified? I have friends who live in Iran and Syria. how is this acceptable?

that is US who are affraid of their own shadows. but anyway dont mind, they can download it there..

At my company we used to have some sort of legacy email system (long before my time), which when they sunset it they exported all of the messages (1MM+) to plain text files. What I would like to do would be to find some way to convert these text files to some sort of MAPI compliant form that can be imported into our compliance archive. Since these are simply text files we would have to parse senders/recipients, subject, dates, and body out of the text and input it (with lots of predefined defaults) into a message template (msg format?). Any ideas how/if this could be done in some sort of automated fashion?
Here is a sample:

You could do it with any old scripting language. However, we’d need to see samples of the messages, get a description of the platform on which they are stored and where you plan to store the messages, to tell you how to do it.

Hi,

We are developing an application.

We are using display tags for displaying data in tables. Display tags was chosen as it has inbuilt features of sorting and exporting functionality.

We are now facing problem in implementing sorting functionality.

Here is a sample of how the data is being displayed.

Revenue ('000 USD)

Compliance & Risk Mgmt 345

CustomMangament 123

Enterprises 234

Tech Opmitization 112

Total 814

Now when we do a sorting, the row with ‘Total’ also get sorted which should not be the case.

We used the display tag’s ‘footer’ option to solve this issue. But then while exporting the footer is not getting exported.

We need your help where both sorting and exporting functionality work together.

hey,
this site will help you ……http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/11/displaytag-examples/dependencies.html
……good luck
